Olga RomanovCollaborationCalligraphyNarrative
This collaborative, week-long project focused on developing graphic props for Olga Romanov, the eldest daughter of Russia's last Tsar, Nicholas II. During World War I, Olga served as a Red Cross nurse, tending to wounded Russian soldiers from 1916. The project draws inspiration from a poignant chapter in her life when she formed a deep emotional connection with one of her patients, capturing a fleeting moment of romance against the backdrop of impending revolution. This historical narrative ended tragically with her execution alongside her family by Bolshevik forces in 1918.
Collaboration with Bea Sims and Toby Apps.
